Plot Summary:Dr. Markway, doing research to prove the existence of ghosts, investigates Hill House, a large, eerie mansion with a lurid history of violent death and insanity. With him are the skeptical young Luke, who stands to inherit the house, the mysterious and clairvoyant Theodora and the insecure Eleanor, whose psychic abilities make her feel somehow attuned to whatever spirits inhabit the old mansion. As time goes by it becomes obvious that they have gotten more than they bargained for as the ghostly presence in the house manifests itself in horrific and deadly ways.

画外音独白强有力地破坏了镜头本身构筑起的叙事张力，太可惜。
与《无辜的人》类似，但明显不如其有想象力。更倾向于本身有精神问题的人物在诡异的环境渲染下出现异常，这明显削弱了作品的想象空间。
女主像无辜的人里的女主一样 歇斯底里 神经质 黑白的恐怖画面也有点无辜的人的味道 同样的大屋 同样的怀疑有鬼 后半段好几个镜头在惊悚的配乐与翻转的镜头下令人寒毛卓竖 六十年代的恐怖片有如此效果 真不愧为一部经典佳作
3.5星，没有任何的鬼怪幽灵出现，完全靠镜头语言来营造整部影片的恐怖氛围。不过这个那么神经质的女主角从一开始似乎就嚷嚷着要去找死，是不是使得影片多少失去了些悬念呢。。。
节奏好慢，不过最后终于有些许惊喜
心中有鬼。 PS·不喜欢Eleanor，神神叨叨的。
